Dye House Yarns began in 2017 when Sam’s interest in textiles lead her to a explore the play of colour, tone, texture and layering on various yarn bases. This experimentation soon grew to a passion for creating unique evocative colourways.

Each Dye House Yarn skein is hand dyed in small batches, which results in varied skeins, every, single, time. This uniqueness is one of the most beautiful and sort after aspects of hand dyed yarn.

It is also one that continues to inspire Sam to allow herself creative freedom, to be playful and trust the process, and ultimately to retain a sense of humour when it goes in ways she was not expecting.

When not at the dye pots Sam can be found by the sea, sometimes surfing, but usually trying to split herself in half to watch her eldest 2 kids on the waves whilst chasing after her youngest on the shore.
