Kawandi Quilting Technique  – Cross Body Bag

Simmy opened STITCH ‘N STUFF 32 years ago and is an accredited quilting teacher who loves to dabble in all sorts of needlecraft- with handwork being her new “go to” hobby when she is not teaching machine and hand stitching at her shop.

We will be learning the history and the technique of KAWANDI by making a practical cross body bag,  also the versatility of the technique with examples of the different items that can be made by the students.

COURSE EXPERIENCE LEVEL:

  • Students need to be able to thread a needle – the rest will be taught

COURSE MATERIALS INCLUDED WITH THE WORKSHOP:

  • A full kit will be supplied – Fabric, batting, magnetic clasp, twill tape for the cross body strap, needles, DMC perle cotton and pins.

BRING WITH YOU ON THE DAY:

  • Students will need to bring a sharp pair of scissors for cutting  pieces of fabric and thread.
  • If you like to work with a thimble please bring yours.
  • And most important of all, please bring your reading glasses!!!

Students attending workshops will be added to an “only admins can post” Whatsapp group for their course in order for their teacher to share class information and what to bring with you to your course.
